India Metal Agency (IMA) was established in 1949 as a trading house importing non-ferrous metals. Subsequently, IMA diversified into marketing and distribution of critical items for power generation, transmission and distribution. IMA represents Thomas Bolton & Sons (UK), Tenaris (Italy), and BICC (UK), among others. In 1978, IMA began expanding its activities to the Oil & Gas sector, a move highlighted by its re-christening as IDEC. IDEC’s primary focus is to provide service and support to the Oil & Gas industry


With a dedicated team of senior technocrats, IDEC offers its OEM partners professional sales, support and service for their oil and gas products. To better serve the natural gas and energy markets, EUROTEC ENGINEERING CORPORATION was incorporated in 2011 as a group company. The Eurotec business is organized across three verticals - Equipment Supply, Engineering Services and Turnkey solutions


The Eurotec group has a dynamic and extensive presence in major cities and strategic project sites in India. Our presence in metropolitan areas includes a head office in Mumbai, branch offices in New Delhi, Gandhinagar (Gujarat), and a well-integrated network of representatives in Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam. This enables us to effectively cater to the needs of our customers anywhere in the country, in a smooth and well-coordinated manner

Mr. Nitin Mody (President)

Mr. Mody has over 35 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry during which he has established strong relationships and strategic partnerships with leaders of the industry. His vision provides an overall direction to the group and helps the company adapt to a rapidly changing industry

Mr. Mody has a BS in Electrical Engineering (1968) from Gujarat University, specializing in Electrical Power Generation & Distribution and a Mechanical Engineering and MS in Communication Systems (1974) from Lowell Technological Institute (USA) specializing in Communications Systems

Mr. Sandeep Shivhare (Co-Founder, Vice-President)

With over 14 years of professional experience in the field of management, financial markets, IT consulting, strategic sales and business development, Sandeep brings a rich set of skills and expertise to our organization. During his stay in the US, Sandeep had managed multi-million dollar accounts and established strategic relationships at all levels in large, complex organizations

As Head of Natural Gas & Energy Division, Sandeep's mandate is to establish a footprint in the natural gas and energy sectors. Leveraging IDEC's strong presence in upstream and offshore applications, Sandeep lead the initiative to launch Eurotec Engineering Corporation and managed a successful entry into the natural gas sector via the CNG marketplace

As Vice President of Operations, Sandeep is overseeing key aspects of Eurotec business unit, with hands-on management of business development, product development, sales & tendering process, CRM, technical services including installation, commissioning, operations & maintenance, and spare parts management. Sandeep is also leading our efforts to identify and develop expertise in specific areas within the gas and energy value chain so we can extend the benefits of our unique platform to our valued customers

Sandeep has an MBA in Finance from Bentley University, USA and a BS in Accounting & Economics from Bombay University

Mr. Viral Mody (Vice-President)

Mr. Mody is a software engineer from the Golden Gate University in San Francisco, USA. His deep and thorough expertise with computer technology enables us to provide our customers state-of-the-art cutting edge solutions

Trained at Cameron, Grove (Italy) manufacturing facilities in 2000, he subsequently attended exhaustive sales training at Cameron Asia Pacific Head Office in Singapore

Mr.M.S.Vishwanarayan (Technical & Marketing Consultant)

Mr. Vishwanarayan has worked in the Middle East (Sultanate of Oman) for 26 years as an Oil & Gas Division Manager with Inchcape Engineering services (UES & OUA), an associate of INCHCAPEPlc.U.K. Following that, he worked as the General Manager of AbuIlyas Trading L.L.C., Engineered Products Division

He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bombay University, India

Mr.S M Jaria (Head Of Business Development – Gas & Energy)

Mr. Jaria has over 30 years of experience in Power Plants & Utilities Operations. He has been instrumental in setting up Power Plants and managing their operations. His skills cover a wide range of vital activities including bid tendering, contract negotiations and executions, machine installation and commissioning

He has played a key role in setting up and operating a 2X34 MW Naphtha based Power Plant which was subsequently converted to Natural Gas based incl. 2X7.5 MW ST, 3X32 TPH CFBC Boilers. He is also experienced in dealing with OEMS (GE/NP, Siemens, BHEL, ABB, Wartsila)

Mr. Jaria has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lukhdirji Engineering College, Morvi (1977)

Mr. Kiran Padia (Head Of Marketing – Gas Turbine Maintenance)

Mr. Padia is a veteran of the power industry with over 35 years of experience. He started his career as a Deputy and Chief Engineer at different GSECL power stations, including large coal based and gas based CCPP with GE’s heavy-duty gas turbine. He then worked with Andhra Pradesh Gas Power Corporation as General Manager. Mr. Padia had overall operational and financial responsibility as CEO and Executive Director for the Lanco Tanjore combined cycle power plant at IPP in Tamil Nadu

Mr. Padia comes with a reputation of achieving a remarkable improvement in plant performance. He is honored with several awards from various organizations, including the RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD presented by IIFS for his meritorious work in the Power Sector. He was also recognized for completion of MI works in the shortest time, creating a world record for GE 6 FA Gas Turbine

He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Saurashtra University (1972). He is a certified Chartered Engineer from Indian Institute of Engineers and also an approved Independent Director from Institute of Directors

Eurotec’s primary business model is to operate as a value added partner and facilitator for technology providers (OEMs) based in advanced markets (mainly Western Europe & North America), serving India’s oil and gas industries. Engaging in complex, consultative, enterprise level sales and services over the past four decades, our client roster has grown to include most of India’s Oil & Gas majors. At the same time, our network of global partners (Principals) has grown to include reputed, specialty companies, many of whom occupy leading positions in their respective disciplines

Our Principal partners and customers enjoy our end-to-end support through all stages of any given project, from design and development, extending all the way to supply, installation and commissioning, followed by exceptional after-sales service

While a majority of our business was derived from direct sales of products/equipment, as part of our growth plan in 2011, management decided to gradually expand the breadth and depth of our business by: (a) Moving into new verticals within the Oil, Gas & Energy Sector and (b) Adding value to our customer and partner companies by extending the scope of our involvement (offering after sales support, spare parts supply and technical services) This initiative led to the creation of EUROTEC in 2011, to cater to the needs of the Group’s Natural Gas & Energy Division. Over the past five years, Eurotec has developed exclusive partnerships with several OEMs offering unique solutions for various applications across the Oil, Gas & Energy value chain
